Congratulations to our most recent K&M Scholarship Program recipients. Isabelle, Brooke, and Norah will receive a $3,000 scholarship award, which is renewable for three additional years.
Isabelle graduated from Bangor High School and will be attending Kalamazoo College. In high school she was involved in several sports including Volleyball, where she was Academic All-State, Basketball, and Softball, where she was Honorable Mention All-State and led the State in strikeouts. Isabelle was also a part of the National Honor Society and the Student Council, as well as participating in 4H. Isabelle will continue to play Softball at Kalamazoo College as she plans to study Pre-Law with the goal of becoming a Family Lawyer.
Brooke graduated from New Prairie High School. She will be attending Indiana University of South Bend where she plans to study Cybersecurity with the goal of becoming a Cybersecurity Analyst. Outside of high school Brooke has a job at the local bowling alley. She also has built her own computer and enjoys video games.
Norah is a graduate of Niles High School and will be attending Southwestern Michigan College in the Fall where she plans on majoring in Business. Norah was a National Honor Society member, as well as the Treasurer of the Business Professionals of America. She was a part of the Niles Tennis team and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also participated in Dance outside of High School.
The scholarship program was established in 2001 in recognition of K&M’s 50th anniversary and in honor of the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, Mr. Earl G. Marhanka. To date, over $315,000 has been awarded to over 70 students of K&M employees. In addition to our three new recipients, one scholarship winner from previous years is eligible to renew their $3,000 scholarships, Owen (Michigan State University, by way of Our Lady of the Lake High School).
